KYBURZ – Caltrans crews have worked around the clock after several mudslides closed U.S. Highway 50 in El Dorado County from Pollock Pines to Strawberry for several days. In this Caltrans News Flash, get a glimpse at the work that was done to clear fallen debris and to stabilize the hillside.
While U.S. 50 is currently open to traffic, more rain is in the forecast beginning Thursday, Feb. 16 through the weekend. As a result, more slide activity and road closures are possible. Motorists should check highway conditions before traveling by using QuickMap. Caltrans will also issue updates on Twitter and Facebook.
