THE OFFICE OF AVIATION PLANNING PERFORMS THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop California Aviation System Plan (CASP) to assess current and future aviation needs and implementation plan including but not limited to the various elements (Policy Element, Printable Version,  CIP, GA System Needs Appendix, APPX 4 Airport Attributes Table).
  • Coordinate intermodal planning and regional aviation system planning. Participate in development of federal planning policies and develop State aviation policies.
  • Review and comment on Regional Transportation Plans and Overall Work Program.
  • Facilitate resolution of air quality issues affecting airports and airport users.
  • Provide liaison with Caltrans Division of Research and Innovation and other agencies concerning aviation-related activities.
