Nighttime Lane Closures on SR-67/Highland Valley Road Continue Sunday
SAN DIEGO—Caltrans crews will close lanes and implement one-way traffic control on State Route 67 (SR-67) just north of Highland Valley Road/Dye Road in Ramona for five consecutive nights beginning Sunday. The work will take place from 7 until 5 in the morning to install a new drainage system beneath the roadway as part of the SR-67 Dye Road/Highland Valley Road Improvement Project.
Although the intersection will remain open during construction activity, motorists can expect slower moving traffic during the lane closures and are advised to allow additional travel time to reach their destinations.
The traffic signals at the SR-67 Dye Road/Highland Valley Road intersection may be set to flash red during the nighttime work. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic.
Daytime construction continues weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. as crews construct Americans with Disability Act compliant curb ramps at all four corners of the intersection.
The SR-67 Dye Road/Highland Valley Road Improvement Project will widen SR-67 at the intersection from one to two through lanes in each direction and include additional turn lanes on SR-67 to improve traffic flow.
Construction is expected to be completed in summer. More information about the SR-67 Dye Road/Highland Valley Road Improvement Project may be found at http://www.dot.ca.gov/d11/projects/67_DyeRoad.pdf
Motorists are reminded to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment in the project area. The work schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
